Death Care
Death is with us all the time —
in the loss, transitions, and liminal spaces we are always navigating.
I’ve been there with you as you navigated losing a parent.
I’ve helped you adjust to a new reality that didn’t include the love of your life.
I’ve been there to scatter your dog’s ashes with you on his favorite beach.
I’ve been by your side as you walked the coals of spiritual death.
I’ve held your loved one’s hand as they left their body at end of life.
My death care practice is a tapestry that weaves together:
-

-

Bedside Support
Los Angeles, California
+Available to travel
I’m here to be with you and your loved one as they die — to be a servant of Death. To guide and support your loved one in their journey. And to assist you in learning to care for your dying.
We may have days or weeks to prepare, or only a few moments. We’ll work with what we have. This could involve: arranging the space (whether it’s home or a medical facility) to look, sound, and feel the way your loved one desires for their passing. Creating rituals together. Talking your loved one through death anxiety. Advocating on behalf of your desires and rights. Offering energy work. Giving respite support for you, the caregiver. Taking photos and videos for you to cherish later. Sitting vigil and supporting your loved one at every step of the labor process of active dying.
If you’re interested in bedside support, for yourself or for a loved one, you can schedule a free 30-minute consultation below. I am available throughout most of Los Angeles County and may be available to travel to you in other parts of the country — reach out and we’ll see what we can arrange.
Our first 30-minute Zoom call is free. I will let you know on this first call how I can support you going forward, and what my rates are.
Death Events
I host a variety of death-themed events, both in-person in Los Angeles and virtually. I love offering spaces for creative exploration of grief, communal support, deepening in relationship with Death, touching Death imaginally, and performing.
Whether you’re grieving the loss of a loved one, are in the midst of an inner transition, or are generally curious about Death and mortality, these events are for you. I host them at the New Moon, a symbolic moment for letting go and preparing for a new cycle.
Check out my Events page to see upcoming (as well as past) events. To receive email notifications about upcoming events, subscribe to my newsletter!
Additional Resources
Grief ritual: Dr. Mia Hetényi’s free grief rituals, available over Zoom to those in her Dreaming Awake Facebook group. Also, her writing on grief (on Facebook, Instagram) is the deepest and most expansive I’ve found.
Home funerals: for those in the U.S., please know that home funerals are legal in all 50 states! The exact laws vary by state — a good starting place for researching your state’s laws is the National Home Funeral Alliance. They also have an incredible PDF guidebook available on their website. To hear firsthand home funeral stories, check out my Home Funeral Stories podcast.
My favorite holistic deathcare workers to follow on social media are Narinder Bazen (who I interviewed on my Subterranean podcast) and the Aware Care Library, great for suicide-aware resources.
Death Cafes: Attend (or host!) a local Death Cafe, where people gather to drink tea and discuss death. We all need safe spaces to reflect openly on death.

“I could not think of having a better doula.
For me, it went as well as it possibly could have. It was a beautiful, mysterious, creative, ecstatic kind of experience and you helped me so much with that.”
